Josh Holloway in Fourth Mission Impossible

Mission Impossible is back in action! Director Brad Bird is back to deliver another mission for viewers to take a part of. As of right now, there is no news on the plot but the cast has been announced, and new member, Josh Holloway, will be joining the cast of Mission Impossible 4.

Josh Holloway is known for his acting in the hit TV drama, LOST which was good until about the third season where the plot deranged and confused many viewers. Josh Holloway had a solid performance in the series and I believe he will be a great asset to the new Mission Impossible.

As you can see from the audition tape, Josh Holloway has that talent for acting. He is able to remain calm with no emotions whatsoever which is ideal for an action spy thriller. There is no word yet on the role he will serve in the upcoming movie but either way, he will be a quality asset to the flick.

Transformers 3 Filming

Well I was looking online for new films coming up and I came across videos of transformers 3 being recorded in Chicago. With this, the filming seems to follow the film's  predecessors, just all out action. Moreover I was able to see first hand footage of the new cast member of Shia Labeouf's new love interest Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. If you want to be a part of the action, go to Washington D.C because  Filming begins in on Monday September 27th, 2010.

Wallstreet: Money Never Sleeps (Movie Review)

Is greed good? That is the question that surrounds the film. Throughout the film one is trying to figure out if greed is actually beneficial o does it destroy someone? Micheal Douglas's portrayal as infamous wall street stock trader Gordon Gekko is finally out of prison and ready to re enstate himself into the world of stocks.

Jacob Moore (Shia Labeouf)  is the perfect prey for Gekko's rise to fame and richness again. Jacob Moore is a young man trying to prove himself in the war of stock trading. He is constantly trying to work his way up. Jacob is also married to Gekko's estranged daughter Winnie Gekko (Carey Mulligan). Winnie has severe hatred in her father due to the reason of her brother's Rudy suicide, and this impending thought allowed her to blame herself and her father for his death and allowed them to have a terrible relationship. Jacob serves as the peace negotiator trying to bring father and daughter back together while at the same trying trying to have Mr. Gekko teach him about stocks and ultimately lead him to riches.

So, back to the question, is greed good? Well in the movie, greed is ubiquitous throughout the film. Jacob and Mr. Gekko, and many other characters all contain greed. Their lives are motivated by the color green. With this sight for gaining more money, greed has allowed them to lose their morality and human goodness and be replaced by manipulation and backstabbing. All in all, greed can provide one with riches, but the one thing greed cannot provide one with is happiness.

Resident Evil: Afterlife, Review

Today I saw the next film in the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil: Afterlife. To me this film was compressed too much of slow motion, gore, and predictable action sequences.

At first the film embarks on an interesting path with a lone girl standing in the middle of Tokyo looking dazed, bewildered, and containing a placid look. My immediate response was that this film was going to contain some technological updates from the others, and contain more slow motion (since it was in 3-D). However, there was no esoteric depth to this film in any presence. The actors all have expressionless faces throughout the film and hamper the connection with the film goers allowing for no emotions to be conveyed between the audience and the actors. Moreover, this new edition to the sequel generated unanswered questions. My first puzzlement was at the beginning when the Tokyo headquarters was being infiltrated by clones representing Alice. This bewilderment allowed me to ponder on how Alice got this ability and that question was never answered. Another thing to take note on was the slow motion sequences. By the time the film reached the middle, the whole entire story line was already replenished with cliches. The slow motion became unmistakeably trite and useless to the satire of the film. It can be inferred that the slow motion was only incorporated to increase more profit for the 3D film. The one thing that made my blood boil was how the Los Angeles survivors were the stereotypes of California, just rich famous movie producers and gay men. This added to the detached plot and stale performances.

All in all, if I had to compare this film to something, I would compare it to a teen's film project. Simply put it was a cornucopia of banal lines,  an impenetrable plot, and a lavish of money grabbing effects. I just hope the next installment suffers a budget crisis or gets cancelled.

Goodfellas Movie Review

Goodfellas is a classic mafia film that is as popular as The Godfather. Last weekend I was going through the many films I have and decided to watch The Goodfellas. This was my first time watching the movie so I had no idea what to expect. While watching it, I was mesmerized by the strong performances by the actors. The story line was very concise, suspenseful, and really made you explore the depths of the protagonist's life. The thing about this movie that I love is that you really got to know the characters. You were able to see who they really were and etc. I loved this movie from the first five minutes and onwards and will forever consider this film a classic.
